Disabled adults at the Fircroft Trust have been the victims of theft for the second time in a month, after a lawnmower, leaf blower and other tools were stolen from the back of their van on a trip to B&Q in New Malden.
Adults using the gardening service were on a trip to the superstore to pick up some bits and pieces when thieves broke in and stole £700 worth of equipment.
Fundraiser Susannah Horwood said: “It says on the side of the van ‘your local charity’. It’s not like people don’t know what they are doing.”
To add insult to injury, she also had her mobile phone stolen at the weekend.
Burglars smashed their way into one of the Surbiton organisation’s charity shops in Tolworth last month, and managed to steal a safe with nearly £100 inside as well as causing damage.
The trust is currently running a campaign to raise money to renovate a building for its users.
