Croydon has topped the Disability Athletics table at the London Youth Games Competition.
Competitors faced tough opposition from 29 other London Boroughs at Mile End Stadium on June 18, but some superb performances saw Croydon’s boys and girls finishing in first place and second place respectively.
The track and field competition is for young people with physical and sensory impairments or learning disabilities.
Athletes compete in events ranging from long jump and shot to height bean bag and distance club. This year, the squad of 41 included representatives from St. Giles School, Bensham Manor School, Priory School and St Mary’s High School.
