A group of young footballers from across the borough will be taking on their Korean counterparts in a once in a lifetime tournament from July 23.
The youngsters, mainly from New Malden, have been busy practising their dribbling, tackling and shooting ahead of the 9,000km trip to the Asian country for the four day football festival.
Only 10 overseas teams were picked for the 64-side tournament, including squads from the USA and Australia, so to get picked for the wonder trip was some feat for the young football fanatics.
The event is billed as the world’s first global English soccer tournament, with all the teams involved studying English and learning about each others’ cultures, while also showing off their skills on the football field.
