Former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone met with Kingston pensioners on Monday.
Mr Livingstone, 64, spoke about life beyond office and answered questions from members of the Kingston Pensioners’ Forum.
One of the criticisms of Mr Livingstone’s mayoral campaign was he did not visit outer boroughs such as Kingston enough.
Douglas Reynolds, chairman of the pensioners’ forum, said Mr Livingstone devoted his speech to wider issues such as climate change and the economy.
He said: “There was a good cross section of questions focusing on the difference between the old GLA and the current London Assembly.
“Ken said he couldn’t have got away with some of the things he had if he had an elected body underneath him.”
Mr Livingstone told a reporter from Bloomberg on Friday he “felt 35 years old” and saw no reason why he should not run for London Mayor again in 2012.
