A fast growing social club has hit a hundred as it goes from strength to strength.
The Wimbledon Women’s Institute, set up in October, has just welcomed its 100th member.
The woman who helped them reach the milestone, Merton Park’s Sarah Fairbairn, was handed a bottle of wine at the organisation’s June meeting.
A WI spokesman said: “There’s obviously a very real need for our type of organisation in the area. Somewhere women of all ages and interests can get together, make new friends, try new activities, get involved in the local community if they want to and, above all, enjoy themselves.”
The club meets on the third Monday of every month at St Matthew’s church hall in Spencer Road, Raynes Park.
