A woman was knocked unconscious after breaking up a fight between two men at a station.
The 31-year-old needed hospital treatment after she tried to end the altercation between the men at East Croydon station on Thursday, July 2.
The incident happened at about 11.15pm, with one of the men punching the her in the jaw knocking her unconscious.
Police were called but the men, who are captured on CCTV, fled the scene before officers arrived.
DC David Brown, based at Croydon British Transport Police station, said: “The attack appears to have been unprovoked and we are determined to find those responsible.
“This was a vicious assault on a woman who was simply making her way home after a night out and I ask anyone with any information to contact police.
“We have made local enquiries and spoken with witnesses and we are also asking for anyone with any information about this assault, or who recognises the men in the CCTV image, to come forward.”
