Thieves have stolen £1,350 worth of sunglasses from cars in 20 days.
Top designer brands have been targeted in the thefts around Sutton including Ray-Ban, Oakley and Ted Baker.
On Friday, July 10, four pairs of Oakley and Ted Baker sunglasses, worth a total of £650, were stolen from a car parked in Charminster Road, Worcester Park.
Since June 19, sunglasses have been taken from a total of eight vehicles.
Other items taken from these vehicles have included a shopping bag, a drill and vehicle documents.
In many cases thieves gained entry by finding the doors unlocked or smashing a window.
Sutton police crime prevention team is urging drivers not to leave any valuables in their cars.
PC Pat Simcox said: “If thieves see sunglasses in the car they break in hoping they will be expensive brand glasses which they can sell for cash.”
She urged all drivers to remove any valuables and ensure that vehicles are locked at all times, even when parking on you own driveway at home.
