A young mother has set up a successful bookkeeping service after attending an eight-week Scola start-your-own business course.
Sarah Francis, a former retail manager, wanted the flexibility of being able to work from home while looking after her baby son.
She said: “I had to decide whether to go back to my previous job after maternity leave. It was a scary decision to make, but it taught me so much, and gave me the confidence to go for it.”
“The scariest thing was getting that first customer, but I now have a range of clients, from builders to photographers, and I am able to go to their premises if they prefer, now that Sean is at nursery.”
