Lidl opponents have had their say against a second attempt to build a supermarket in Chessington.
The company wants to build the store with 12 flats and four houses on the fenced-off Fleetwood Fengate site in Leatherhead Road.
So far 31 letters of objection have been written by neighbours, with one letter of support.
On Wednesday night, councillors sitting on the south of the borough neighbourhood committee heard from both residents and the supermarket.
Jim Taylor, of Chessington Residents’ Association, said: “Our view is it’s a good idea in the wrong place in a residential area.
“Although there was a wood yard there before, this is something completely different when you think about the traffic coming in and out of the place. We don’t think it’s viable.”
The last application was rejected by the council in August. The final decision will be taken by councillors on the development control committee on September 10.
