A man stabbed inside a Croydon pub was attacked after an argument over a fruit machine.
The attack last Saturday July 11, left the man fighting for his life with multiple stab wounds in the chest, arm and kidney.
Police sources revealed the man was approached by at least two white men in the pub who unplugged a fruit machine he was playing on so they could use the power socket to charge up their mobile phones.
When he remonstrated, the man, who was also white, was attacked and only after the men had fled the pub did he realise he had been stabbed.
The attack, at 2.30am, happened inside the Duke of Clarence pub on Portland Road.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said: “We were called just after 2.30am to reports of a stabbing on Portland Road.
“We sent one ambulance crew, a single responder car, a medical team and an officer.
"A man was treated and stabilised at the scene before being taken to hospital."
Croydon police are appealing for any witnesses to the assault or anyone with any information to come forward.
Anyone with information should call 0300 123 1212.
