A man accused of murdering a Sutton grandmother pleaded not guilty in court today.
George Maben, 45, of St Helier Avenue, Morden, appeared in the Old Bailey today charged with the murder of Maureen Cosgrove, 65, for his plea and to make an application for bail, which was refused.
Mrs Cosgrove lived with family members in a detached house in South Way, Carshalton Beeches.
Her body was found by her daughter Lucy, on March 24.
A post mortem examination found that Mrs Cosgrove, who had four children and seven grandchildren, died of asphyxia.
Mr Maben will next appear in court at the Old Bailey on November 19.
