Residents can help shape the future of Epsom town centre by giving their comments and views during a public consultation which started this week.
Epsom and Ewell Council wants to hear from the community about its new strategy, ‘Plan E’ which runs until 24 August 2009.
A council spokeswoman said: "Epsom’s town centre is popular, but like all town centres it faces a variety of challenges and pressures. It has seen significant change over the past few years, which is likely to continue.
"Therefore it is important to plan ahead to make sure Epsom remains a successful place and reaches its full potential."
Plan E will map out a way forward for the town centre up until 2026.
The spokeswoman said: "This is a great opportunity for those who live and work in the borough to let the council know what is important and to influence the future planning of the town centre."
Residents can make comments on a series of ideas for key areas.
Plan E also explores possible changes to the roads system and ways to improve the management and environment of the town centre as a whole.
Plan E will also identify sites which have the opportunity to change or be developed within the town centre and puts forward suggestions for their future use.
The Plan E consultation documents are available on the Council’s website, www.epsom-ewell.gov.uk and comments can also be made online.
Copies are also available from the Town Hall and can be viewed in local libraries. Officers will also be present in Epsom Market Place to discuss the plans, answer questions and receive feedback on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August.
