An Apprentice-style business challenge hosted by Kingston University produced a bevy of bright innovations.
School prom nights and teenage ice-skating events were just two of the award-winning ideas produced by students from Southborough High School when they stepped up to the challenge.
Unlike the TV show, there was no brutal firing as the 60 sixth form students impressed a panel of judges in a week of hard work, brainstorming and innovation at the annual event.
The winning team worked on a brief for Hampton Court Palace and were tasked with finding a way to attract more teenagers to the historic venue.
An impressed education officer for the palace, Gillian Hunter, said: “They understood straight away that they couldn’t alienate our core visitors and instead came up with ideas that would attract their age group without compromising what we already do.”
The winners received a trophy from Kingston and Surbiton MP Edward Davey in a special presentation ceremony and were rewarded with a celebratory meal at Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen restaurant.
