The number of people who think Surrey County Council provides value for money has gone up – to 43 per cent.

Happiness with Surrey as a place to live went up 1 percentage point to 91 per cent from the third quarter of the financial year (October to December 2008) to the fourth (January to March 2009) according to the latest SCC survey.

Satisfaction with the way the council “runs things” went up 3 per cent to 63 from the third quarter to the fourth.

Some 58 per cent of people were “very” or “fairly” satisfied with Surrey’s primary schools, while 52 per cent were “very” or “fairly” satisfied with the council’s secondary schools.

The results are based on a telephone survey of 1,650 residents across the county.
