Epsom’s fire crew are recruiting youngsters to join them for a day at the firestation to learn how to handle hoses, use breathing apparatus and cut open cars to rescue accident victims.
Five firefighter for a day courses will be held during the summer holidays and they are open to all young people aged between 12 and 15.
The courses, on July 27, August 7, August 11, August 17 and August 28, last from 8.30am to 3.30am are free but participants must bring trainers, a spare set of clothes and a packed lunch.
To join in the fun at Epsom fire station in Church Street, Epsom, call the fire station on 01372 722223.
