A 29-year-old man from Mitcham died after being hit by a double decker bus in Tooting on Sunday morning.
He was crossing Upper Tooting Road at around 2.40am when a Morden-bound bus hit him.
Emergency services were called to the accident near Derinton Road, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said they know the man's identity but are currently notifying next of kin.
The post mortem examination has not yet been carried out and there have been no arrests.
The incident is being investigated by the Collision Investigation Unit based at Hampton Traffic Garage.
Sergeant John Hartfree is keen to speak to any passengers on the bus who may have witnessed the incident or have any information.
