Richard Ottaway faces D-day over his controversial expenses claims.
The Croydon South MP will face the local Conservative Party members at a make or break meeting on July 30.
Members will be able to quiz the MP over his claims, which include almost £9,000 on gardening at his second home in Bletchingley.
A vote of confidence will take place at the end of the meeting with the prospect of Mr Ottaway being forced to stand down as an MP.
Ian Parker, Croydon Conservative Association agent, said: “Every party member in Croydon South will be invited to that meeting.
“There will be a vote of confidence at the end of the meeting and Richard Ottaway said he will abide by that decision.”
It follows a meeting held last week (July 16) with the Croydon South Conservative Federation executive.
The executive decided not to take a vote or impose any sanctions on Mr Ottaway, instead leaving the decision up to the membership.
