ST27403 An estimated 100,000 visitors visited Brockwell Park over the weekend for one of the highlight’s of the borough’s cultural calendar, the Lambeth Country Show.
The two-day festival combined the best of the city and countryside, with sheep dog displays and prize winning vegetables starring alongside ska, reggae, soul and other mainstays of south London urban life.
Lambeth’s international population was reflected in the food on sale, and the variety of acts performing and organisations representing themselves.
Councillor Steve Reed, leader of festival organisers at Lambeth Council, called it a “fantastic and successful weekend.”
He said: “The country show is a tremendous showcase of the best that the people of Lambeth have to offer and it was great to see so many people having a good time again this year.”
