Freddie Sears says he is happy to play wherever manager Neil Warnock wants him to after making a storming start to his Crystal Palace career.

The 19-year-old, who has joined the Eagles on a season-long loan from West Ham, played and scored in both friendlies during the club's seven-day tour of America last week in his first appearances in a Palace shirt.

In those games Sears lined up as part of a front three with Alan Lee and Victor Moses and he insists he has no problems being moved out wide from his favoured central role.

"I don't mind where I play to be honest," he said.

"I like being up front with another striker but I don't mind playing out wide in a 4-3-3 or even on the right of a 4-4-2.

"I just want to get as many games as I can and score as many goals as I can.

"I'm not really setting myself a target for how many, just to do the best that I can."

Sears also had offers from Peterborough United, Sheffield Wednesday and QPR but says he chose Palace because of Warnock.

"He said to me, "you will come here and you will play and you will do well,"" said Sears.

"There were a few other offers but I knew a lot about the manager before, you have seen what he's done with Sheffield United and at Palace.

"A lot of young players have also made their debuts here and are playing, which means if you good enough you will play no matter what age you are."

As for the trip to America, Sears revealed he was impressed with the standard of football on show from Crystal Palace USA and the Harrisburg City Islanders.

"The football was decent," he said.

"Both teams could play, they were not easy matches out there and we were probably just a bit stronger and fitter.

"It was good to start for my fitness and the goals were great as well but pre-season is just about getting through and getting ready for the season."
