Firefighters helped a distraught mother this week when her front door slammed shut, locking her out while her one-year-old son was inside alone.
They were called to a block of flats in Sheephouse Way, New Malden, at about 9.30pm on Monday, July 20.
The crying baby was waiting by the door for his mother and firefighters had to be careful not to hit him as they broke in.
Watch manager Steve Preston said: “She was pretty frantic.
"She tried to keep him to one side while we broke in.
"Then she ran in, grabbed the baby and sat on the sofa.
"We made her a cup of tea, got him some water and sat him in front of his favourite channel, Baby TV.”
