Proud members of Kingston and Malden Scout and Guide Band played the gig of their life on July 16, when they performed for the Prince of Wales at a garden party he threw in the grounds of Buckingham Palace.
The band entertained guests from the palace’s bandstand during the day, which was held to promote a project aimed at getting more adults involved in youth organisations, before accompanying the Royal party as they left the grounds by playing the national anthem.
Scouts and guides from across the borough joined with more than 3,000 members of organisations representing Project YOU on the day, taking tea and mingling with dignitaries including the Mayor of London Boris Johnson.
More information on Project YOU is available at youlondon.org.uk.
