An accomplished Epsom bridge player celebrated her centenary this week.
Kathleen Coward had a birthday party on Tuesday attended by her two sons, four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and 98-year-old sister, Joyce, who came from Devon especially for the celebration.
Mrs Coward, who used to work in the telephone exchange, played and taught bridge until she was in her 90s.
The widow still lives at home, with a carer, and according to her daughter-in-law, Sue, she is in very good shape and was thrilled to have the family over for her 100th birthday party.
