A host of new services are on offer to the victims of domestic violence by Croydon’s family justice centre.
The services, which were approved by the FJC executive committee last week, include specialist counselling, a new 24/7 helpline, a service to provide advice and support to potential victims of forced marriage and honour-based violence, and a civil and criminal justice support worker.
It follows a review of needs of family violence victims and feedback from agencies.
Councillor Gavin Barwell, cabinet member for community safety and cohesion, and joint chair of the FJC executive, said: “I am pleased to support these new and improved services for victims of family violence.
"Croydon Council recognises the excellent work undertaken at the FJC and will be funding several new posts this year to ensure that it continues to meet the needs of families experiencing violence in the borough.”
