Another vicious assault in Blagdon Park has left a man with a lacerated face after a gang of 15 young people kicked and punched him.
The 30-year-old man was walking in the park three weeks ago when his dog was called over by the group.
When he asked them to leave his dog alone, he was surrounded, kicked and punched. He managed to call police on his mobile phone.
Police say he suffered a laceration to his face which required 15 stitches in the incident on Tuesday, June 30.
DC Kev Goodman said: "This is a vicious unprovoked attack, that has affected the victim and his family.”
A 16-year-old was left fighting for his life after being attacked in the park in April. Two weeks later a 34-year-old woman was left traumatised after being robbed of her phone in the park leading terrified neighbours to describe the park as a “no-go area”.
One neighbour is pressing the council to remove the benches by the fire barriers in Blagdon Road, which he says are a focal point for gangs of youths.
Inspector Paul McGregor told community leaders recently that Blagdon Park was a priority for police.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to call Kingston CID on 0208 247 4909 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
