A man was mugged at knifepoint as he travelled home.
Anthony Blunden was walking through the Duppas Hill underpass on Thursday, July 9 at about 3.30pm.
He was approached by three teenage boys who asked for his money. When he refused, one of the men pulled out a knife.
Fearing for his life, Mr Blunden handed over all his money, about £40, and the boys ran off.
He said: “I was expecting the knife to go in me. They were very intimidating.”
Mr Blunden said he was annoyed there was no CCTV in the underpass.
A police spokesman said: “We can confirm that at 3.45pm we received a report of a robbery at the underpass between Davenant Road and Lower Coombe Street. "A 45-year-old man was tripped up. "Three teenagers asked for his money and held a metal object similar to a knife without a handle against his stomach. "The first teenager searched his pockets and took £40 and some tobacco. The man managed to flag down a police vehicle.”
The muggers were all 17 to 18, one 6ft, one 5ft 8in and the other of unknown height, wearing a black hooded top, a grey hooded top and a black hooded top respectively.
