The pregnant girlfriend of gunned down football manager Ryan Musgrove has made a tearful plea for information about his murder.

Kelly McGahan broke down in tears as she revealed she was three months pregnant and said Mr Musgrove’s killer had ruined their lives.

The Coney Hall FC football manager was on his way to a training session in Sparrows Den playing fields in West Wickham when a masked gunman opened fire with a hand gun on July 17.

The 36-year-old electrician died of a single gun shot wound which punctured his heart, kidneys and spleen.

The masked assassin fled on a mountain bike in the direction of New Addington.

Detective Chief Inspector John McFarlane, who is leading the investigation, said the killer had been seen the previous Tuesday and Thursday. Miss McGahan said: “I’m appealing for people to come forward. Anyone who knows anything or has seen anything on that evening when this happened to him.

“He lived for football, he lived for his children, he has got two beautiful children.

“Were are expecting our first baby together. He is not going to be able to hold or kiss our baby.

“It has destroyed our lives.”

Mr Musgrove leaves behind two children Saffron, 13, and Storm, 11, from a previous relationship.

She said she did not know what to say to the murderer.

“They have ruined so many people’s lives with what they have done. They have not thought about the consequences of what they have done.

“We had so many plans together and they have taken that away.

“I just want someone who knows anything to come forward, someone walking their dog or another cyclist. Please, just anything, anything at all.”

DCI McFarlane said so far between 30 and 40 people had come forward with information.

He said the killer had been seen the week before the murder.

“He was seen the previous Tuesday and Thursday at Sparrows Den playing fields and at Coney Hall football club at between 6pm and 7pm.”

He said about 1,400 vehicles passes along Addington Road an hour and any one of those drivers may have seen something.

He also wanted anyone who knew anything about Mr Musgrove’s lifestyle to talk to the police.

Anyone with any information is asked to call 0208 721 4205 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
