A party at a Crystal Palace hotel resulted in dozens of complaints from neighbours to police and the venue.

Police said some 50 to 60 guests at an Irish party on Monday, July 20, refused to leave the Queens Hotel in Church Road when the function finished at 12pm.

Many guests turned “volatile”, they said.

Officers who attended the scene dispersed the majority from the car park - but a smaller group who brought a caravan in order to spend the night in the hotel’s car park continued to make noise until 5am.

Hotel manager Zifhan Zaman said he called police four times to stop the troublemakers, but no officers arrived.

Police said they had one unit monitoring the situation, but no arrests were made.

More than 30 residents in the surrounding area complained to the hotel the next day about the disturbance.

Mr Zaman said he wanted to apologise to everyone affected and that a similar party would never take place at the hotel again.
