Carnival floats which haven’t been seen in more than 30 years will be rolling out on the streets this weekend.
The revival of the Addiscombe Carnival is due to take place on Sunday, July 26.
Local shops, business and resident’s associations have all joined together to bring back the carnival which disappeared from Croydon three decades ago.
The carnival procession will begin in Morland Road, and at 11am will proceed along Lower Addiscombe Road to Ashburton Park where John Coneley’s annual summer funfair will be operating.
Alongside the funfair there will be arena events, stalls of all kinds, static displays, games and races for the children, donkey rides and refreshments.
