John Crumplin has issued a simple warning to his Walton & Hersham squad - shape up or ship out.
Crumplin was angered by his side’s display as the Swans laboured to a 1-0 win over Molesey on Saturday, Sean Rivers grabbing the goal.
And the Walton boss made it clear he will not accept a repeat performance.
He said: “The players all knew I would be switching the side around totally at half-time, like I have done every pre-season game, but still the team in the first half played at jogging pace.
“That is not acceptable and I had them running around the pitch at half-time to make my point.
“If the players know they are getting 45 minutes you expect them to give it a go straight away.
“I am not going to stand for that, and the team in the second half had the benefit of an ear-bashing.”
Crumplin aims to have his squad finalised by this weekend and he admits recent displays have given him plenty of food for thought.
He added: “A few of the players have not showed me enough and they will not be here when the season starts.
“But I want everything sorted by this weekend, so we have two good weeks to prepare for the first game of the season.”
