A Wandsworth Prison officer plans to run 13 miles around London’s royal parks for the charity Mencap.
Paul Addicott, 23, was inspired to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon by his work as a disability liason officer at the prison.
He said: “I have been working with prisoners who have a disability and it is fantastic to have the opportunity to raise money to support Mencap and the work they do supporting people with a learning disability.”
The run, on October 11, will take him past iconic buildings like Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the London Eye and the Albert Memorial.
Leroy Binns, Mencap spokesman, said: “The money that he raises will help us to continue our work supporting people with a learning disability, like me, and their families and carers.”
