A man who won £10,000 on television game show Total Wipeout is going to use his winnings to take his mother on the trip of a lifetime.

Aaron Chin-You, 30, saw Total Wipeout on television six months ago and decided he’d like a piece of the action.

After searching on the internet he came across an application form for the show and sent it off. Shortly afterwards he received a call from the producers telling him to pack his bags as he was off to the purpose-built set in Argentina to take part in television's most arduous game show.

The show sees 20 contestants compete against each other to be crowned the Total Wipeout champion and take home £10,000 cash.

Contestant’s strength, balance and bravery is put to the test on one of the worlds largest, purpose-built assault courses.

Mr Chin-You, from Selsdon, said: “I saw the show on television and thought it looked so funny I had to have a go. After I applied I got a call telling me I was booked on a flight to Argentina, all I wanted to do was get out there, I was so excited.

“Everyone on the show was really nice, the production staff treated us really well and I had a laugh with all of the other contestants, I even watched the show at a one’s house in Woking.

“The experience was out of this world and winning was even better.”

The London Underground worker has promised to take his mother on a trip with his winnings.

Mr Chin-You said: “My mum has always wanted to go to Japan so I decided I’d give her the trip she has always dreamed of.

"She has always been there for me and this is just giving something back to her. I plan to put the tickets inside dozens of boxes, inside each other, just to throw her off.”
