Award: Mr Grove's bravery was acknowledged by Sir Hugh Orde, chairman of ACPO
The funeral of have-a-go-hero William John Grove will take place on Tuesday.
The service will begin at 11.30am in St Matthias Chruch, in Friars Stile Road, Richmond, and a cremation will follow at 12.30pm in Mortlake Crematorium.
Family and friends have asked for well-wishers to make donations to the Alzheimer's Society rather than give flowers.
Tributes poured in to the Richmond and Twickenham Times last week for the 85-year-old, who inadvertently found fame before he died after he tackled an armed robber during a daytime raid on Ernest Jones, in Richmond, last year.
