Malcolm Wicks, MP for Croydon North, was last week awarded an honorary doctorate from Brunel University where he formerly worked as a lecturer.
Mr Wicks, the current Minister for Energy, was recognised by Brunel for his work on climate change.
Professor Steve Dixon, Brunel University, said: “He has instigated a forward-looking policy that adopts a diverse mix of energy sources while emphasising an increasing use of low-carbon options and a massive expansion of renewable energy generation.”
