Young players at Kingstonian Youth FC will live the dream today, when they play on the turf at Wembley Stadium.
The team will be among 700 children who will follow in the footsteps of their footballing heroes when they step out to play at the FA/McDonald’s National Football Festival Kingstonian Youth will enjoy an action packed day of coaching and mini-tournaments plus a special appearance from World Cup star Sir Geoff Hurst MBE.
They will receive expert tuition from Eric Harrison, the former Manchester United youth team coach, after winning their place through a programme which involved McDonald’s restaurants providing support to local clubs.
Gary Adams, McDonald’s franchisee in Kingston, said: “I’m delighted that a team from Kingston will get the opportunity to play at Wembley and meet a football legend like Sir Geoff Hurst. "I’m sure it will be fantastic experience and a day they’ll never forget.”
