Police have embraced new technology in the hunt for the killer of rap artist Carl Beatson Asiedu.
Mr Asiedu, known as Charmz, was a popular student with more than 4,000 people joining his tribute site of Facebook.
Detectives are hoping to tap into this by setting up a special appeal email which will be publicised on the group page.
The email address, carlsappeal@met.police.uk, allows anyone with information on Mr Asiedu’s killing to contact the police anonymously.
Mr Asiedu was stabbed to death near Club Life nightclub in Goding Street in the early hours of Saturday, August 1.
DI Chris Le Pere, of the Homicide and Serious Crime Command (HSCC), who is leading the murder investigation, said: "We would ask anyone who knows anything about what happened to Carl or his friend to please contact us.
"We've set up this special email address so that people who might not feel comfortable ringing us, can still have the chance to pass on any vital information they may have which could help us catch Carl's killer.
"Officers will be at the scene this Friday from 11pm to 7am Saturday handing out posters and talking to clubbers, residents and anyone else in the area."
Police discovered Mr Asiedu’s body when they stopped three cars seen running a red traffic light in Baylis Road, Waterloo, just after 5am last Saturday.
Mr Asiedu, from Norbury, was in one of the vehicles and had been stabbed.
London Ambulance Service and the air ambulance attended, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Anyone with information can also call the incident room on 020 8721 4005 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
