One of the biggest names in Christian rock music is taking time out from an international tour schedule to perform at Cornerstone the Church in Esher next month.
Noel Richards, who has lived in Cobham for nearly 30 years, will perform at the church’s Friends First event on Sunday, September 6.
In a career spanning 23 years, Noel has released 16 albums and filled some of the biggest stadiums in the world, including Wembley Stadium in 1997, where he headlined an all-day Christian rock festival. His largest audience to date was in 2000, when he played in front of 66,000 people, including Prince Charles, at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
As part of the Friends First evening, Noel will be performing songs with the church’s resident music team, which features members of his touring band, and sharing his experiences from a lifetime on the road and in the studio.
The event is taking place from 6pm in the Gold Suite at Sandown Park.
Pastor Chris Demetriou, senior pastor of the church, said: “It’s a great honour to host such an influential and internationally renowned performer as Noel Richards at our Friends First event.
"We’re so excited to offer this tremendous opportunity to all our visitors to hear such a unique and inspirational singer.”
