Goalkeeper Paul Burgess is honoured for his 19 years at Ashford Town (Middlesex) with a testimonial match later this month.

Having signed for the Ash Trees in the summer of 1990, Burgess has made 651 first-team appearances, as well as playing in countless reserve and non-competitive matches.

Burgess was Ashford's first ever contract player and has represented the Middlesex County FA.

Married with three children, Burgess lives in Ashford.

As he is a lifelong Tottenham Hotspur fan, the club will be hosting Spurs Legends at Short Lane on Sunday, September 27 (2pm).

Ashford will field an all-star XI, hand-picked by Burgess, which will feature a mixture of current first-team players and others who contributed to the Tangerines' rise from the Combined Counties League to the Ryman Premier League.

Among those likely to feature for Spurs Legends are Mark Falco, Tony Galvin, Les Boughey, Perry Suckling, Andy Edmonds, Mark Stimson, Mark Robson, Steve Smart, Richard Cooke, Trevor Wilkinson, Tim O'Shea, Danny Hill, Ralph Coates, John Pratt, Dennis Bond, Garry Brooke, Micky Hazard and Steve Sedgley.

Tickets are £10 (OAPs and students £5, children £1).

Programmes will be available and there will be a licensed bar, hot and cold food and a raffle with prizes provided by some of the biggest clubs in English football as well as FourFourTwo magazine.

Pre-match and half-time entertainment will be provided by the Staines Brass Band.
