Freddie Sears is set for a scan on his ankle in the morning after leaving Selhurst Park in a cast on Saturday.

The Crystal Palace youngster was a second-half substitute in the 4-0 thrashing by Scunthorpe United and missed a late penalty, despite wrestling the ball off appointed spot-kick taker Neil Danns in a bid to score his first Palace goal.

However, he was injured in a challenge late on and could face a lengthy lay-off depending on the results of the scan.

"Freddie doesn't look so good at the moment," said Palace manager Neil Warnock.

"The swelling hasn't gone down completely and he will have a scan in the morning.

"He won't play tomorrow night."

Claude Davis missed the drubbing on Saturday having injured his hamstring in training on Thursday, and Warnock was unsure how long he would be absent for.

"Claude is trying to get himself fit at the moment," he said.

"You never know with Claude how long he will be out for so we will wait and see."
