Protesters against a proposed phone mast demonstrated outside Esher station on Saturday, in the hope Network Rail will block the plans.
Residents in Lower Green Road have been fighting Vodafone’s application to erect a mobile phone mast on land belonging to Network Rail, near where they live.
The proposals were turned down by Elmbridge councillors, but this decision was overturned at an appeal earlier this month.
Campaigners said two equipment cabinets that would be installed next to the mast would create a security risk for people leaving Esher station when it is dark.
They made their own replicas of the cabinets to demonstrate the effect they would have. They will also present a petition to Network Rail.
