The police's "heavy mob" have been showing their softer side by volunteering to work with kids from estates in West Norwood.
Officers from the Met's Territorial Support Group have been helping out at a youth club run by the Salvation Army at their centre in Norwood Road.
The officers - who specialise in public order containment and other specialist policing - volunteer every Wednesday to work with young people from the Tulse Hill and York Hill estates.
Major Sharron Lancely, who runs the West Norwood Salvation Army Centre Corps, said: "They have a reputation as the police's heavy mob, but the work they do with the young people is really fantastic."
