Wandsworth's architectural wonders open doors

Some of Wandsworth’s most famous buildings are to open their doors as part of the annual London Open House event.

A total of 11 buildings in the borough are taking part, including Emanuel School in Battersea, Tooting Bec Lido and the Royal Victoria Patriotic Building in Wandsworth.

Several churches are taking part, including All Saints’ in Putney, which will be showcasing its late Victorian art and stunning stained glass windows.

Architect Norman Foster, who designed The Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe, will also be opening his studio in Hester Road, Battersea.

The event will see more than 500 buildings all over London open to allow the public to access hidden architecture wonders.
