Never underestimate the importance of dressing to scale! Scale determines the correct weights, textures and sizes of garments, patterns and accessories you should wear. Clothing and accessories should reflect your own body scale.
Everywhere you look, you will see evidence that the '80s fashion is back in vogue. For example, shoulder pads are in everything from blouses to jackets and dresses, but a word of warning to all of you who are toying with the idea of revisiting this look. Remember big, sharp shoulders had their place in boardrooms across the city back in the '80s and we loved them, because we didn't know any better, but this time around things have changed and we are more educated.
Accentuating your shoulders can look great and flattering, if the size of the shoulders is relative to your scale, so don't be put off from buying. However, beware of some of the more extreme designs if you are petite, as this will inevitably lead to your head looking like a peanut on top of your shoulders!
