Matt Lawrence has been put on the transfer list by Crystal Palace.

The versatile defender was told by manager Neil Warnock earlier this week that it would be best if he moved on and looked for first-team football elsewhere.

The decision comes after Saturday's 4-0 thumping by Scunthorpe United after which Warnock was openly critical of his defenders.

Lawrence was then completely left out of the squad that travelled to QPR on Tuesday night and it seems his days at Palace are numbered.

Warnock said: "We feel it is time for Matt to have a change of scene so we have put his name on the transfer list.

"Matt and I had a chat in the week and we agreed he should be playing every week, which is something we will not be able to offer him at Crystal Palace."

Lawrence was bought to the club by Warnock's predecessor Peter Taylor from Millwall in 2006 and has made 117 appearances, scoring once.
