A motorcyclist who died after crashing into a car in East Molesey last weekend was 25-year-old Shaun Raggett.

The father-of-two was killed in Hampton Court Way at about 9am on Saturday, September 12, after hitting a Volkswagen Passat travelling the opposite way.

He died at the scene, 100m north of the junction with Embercourt Road. The man driving the Volkswagen suffered minor cuts and shock.

The road going both ways was closed while police investigated, but no arrests were made.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said an inquest into Mr Raggett’s death was due to be opened.

A tribute site for Mr Raggett, who the Elmbridge Guardian believes was from the Molesey area, has been set up on the social networking site Facebook.

One post on the site, written on Tuesday evening by Kelly Schluter, said: “RIP to you my big cousin, I’m still in shock and finding it hard to believe. Love you loads, you will never be forgotten. In our hearts forever and always. XxX R.I.P XxX Love Kel x”

Another post, left by Sharon Smith, said: “cant believe u have been taken from us so young, u will always be in our hearts and never forgotten, r.i.p. my little nephew u will be sadly missed, luv u shaun sleep tight.”

Mr Raggett’s partner, Hayley Roberts thanked people on Facebook for the tributes they had left.

She said: “He would be so happy to know how much you all care, thanks for all your messages of love and support.”

A funeral for Mr Raggett is being held at Bonner Hill Crematorium in Kingston, on Wednesday, September 23, at 10.20am. This will be followed by a wake at the Kingston Working Men’s Club in Old London Road, Kingston.

Surrey Police are still appealing for witnesses to the accident, who should call the collision investigation unit on 01483 639922.
