Residents are invited to an evening of music and celebration on Friday, October 3, to raise money for the mayor’s charity.
Live performances from Melodious Ghazals, Geet and Bollywood Dhamaka will help make it an evening to remember and funds will support the Mayor’s Charitable Trust, now an officially recognised charity in itself which supports the borough’s homeless.
Deputy mayor Councillor Shiraz Mirza said: “While this is a wonderful opportunity for members of the borough’s muslim community to celebrate Eid, it would also be fantastic if residents from all faiths and backgrounds could come and join the celebrations. They will be welcomed with open arms.”
The mayor’s charity is focusing on Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness, Street Pastors, who work on the streets giving advice to the vulnerable, and Spear, which works provide the homeless with access to accommodation The event starts at 7pm in the Shiraz Mirza Trust, New Malden.
