Army cadets from Walton are back home after spending two weeks at one of the country’s largest youth camps.
More than 300 young people aged between 12 and 18 from the Surrey Army Cadet Force (ACF) visited the Okehampton Camp in Devon to take part in training activities and military exercises for their annual summer camp.
They also got the chance to go mountain bike riding, abseiling and rifle shooting and, in between, practised their first aid and map skills.
While at the camp, the cadets lived under canvas and ate food cooked by themselves from 24-hour ration packs.
Xander Odeneal, a 13-year-old cadet from Walton, said: “This year’s camp was excellent and fun. I love everything about being in the cadets and enjoy being with my friends.”
