The Children’s Commissioner for England, Sir Al Aynsley-Green will visit children’s charity Jigsaw4u in Mitcham on Wednesday 30 September as part of his nation-wide Listening Tours. This entails a special three day visit to projects in London to find out what life is like for children and young people in the region.

The visit to Jigsaw4u’s Mitcham office will enable children and young people, who have received grief support from the Mitcham and the Surrey offices, to tell Sir Al about their lives and what matters most to them. Their views and opinions will feed into the work of 11MILLION, the organisation led by the Children’s Commissioner.

Jigsaw4u supports children, young people and their families who have experienced grief, loss and trauma. – www.jigsaw4u.org.uk Sir Al Aynsley-Green, the Children's Commissioner for England, says: “I am looking forward to meeting the children and young people at the Jigsaw4u project and listening to their opinions and concerns. From my own experience, I know how the loss of a parent or loved one can affect a young person's life. Projects like Jigsaw 4u are really important as they provide essential support and friendship during such distressing times. My organisation, 11MILLION, has put the active participation of children and young people at the heart of all our work and what I hear during my visit will help to shape our plans to try and improve the lives of children in these difficult circumstances."
