An anti-knives campaigner has got together with Croydon youths to create a booklet to highlight the effects of knife crime and gang culture.

Eliza Rebeiro and her Lives not Knives team created the book of poetry, lyrics, art and opinions, from a selection of young persons, showing their perspective of knife crime.

The book is being launched in Croydon Town Hall on October 1 at 4pm and has been funded by telephone company O2's It’s Your Community scheme.

Miss Rebeiro said: “The young persons know there has to be change and they are willing to put in the effort to make a change.

“Please support these young persons by attending this event and encourage them that they are making a difference and that you are willing to share your time by listening and working together.”
