Kingston Hospital has closed down its children’s centre to relocate to a new children’s centre in Chessington.
The site of Moor Lane Junior School has been reopened as a centre aiming to cut out the need for disabled children and their families to traipse across Kingston to meet appointments.
GPs, consultants, nurses, therapists, social workers and special needs teachers will be able to hold appointments under one roof.
Services from the disabled children’s team at Beaconsfield Children’s Resource Centre will also move across.
Kingston Hospital said that the change would not interfere in the care of children, saying services would gradually resume during this week.
