A mum has secured a book deal, thanks to the Croydon Guardian website.
Natasha Desborough, 35, is set to hit the shops next month with her Parental Advisory Manual, which started out life as a website.
The Croydon Guardian profiled the mum-of-two’s website, which offered advice such as what children’s TV character was most attractive, last year.
The article prompted a flurry of comments, particularly the revelations of sex fantasies involving the hit show Lazytown’s Sportacus.
One comment stood which said the website was a prime example of the type of parenting that has led to the breakdown of family values and the website should be banned.
Taking this as a ringing endorsement for a book, Transworld Publishers decided to turn the website into a book.
Mrs Desborough promised the book would “stick two fingers up to those bossy and officious parental advice books that make mums and dads feel completely inadequate”.
The broadcaster, who lives in Kenley, said: “These books are written by smug perfect parents, callous childless nannies and worst of all – celebrity mothers.
“Forget baby sleep training techniques and methods of discipline, the Parental Advisory Manual addresses the overlooked parenting issues Gina Ford forgot about.
“The manual gives advice and support on the important issues such as alternative swear words to use in front of the kids, substitute penis names, the advantages of using a Parkinson’s disease sufferer to get your baby to sleep and why CBeebies is great for kids but dangerous for adults.”
